Watercolor 36" x 48" SLR and titled. A Foster Brothers Frame is included. Provenance: Ralph Della Volpe. Pritchard was a Boston artist. Pritchard exhibited at the Paris Salons of 1887 and 1888. He had a studio at 175 Tremont St. Boston and during the summers he painted on Cape Cod in the town of Brewster. His landscapes done in oil and watercolor were praised by critics for their portrayal of the "cheerful side of nature" Pritchard was a long-standing member of the Boston Art Club and the Boston Society of Watercolor Painters. In 1903 the Beacon Galleries in Boston held a major exhibition of 180 paintings which sold out in four days. The artist also painted in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. $3,800.00
